Dr. Vishal Sharma received numerous prestigious awards for his exceptional contributions to environmental sustainability. He was honored with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Action award in the Individual category for his project in 2020-2021. His remarkable achievements were acknowledged at the 26th International Congress of IFHE-International Award 2020 held in Italy. The project also received recognition as an Innovative Environment Project by CII in the 2021 National Awards and the Business World “Recycling for Greener Tomorrow Conclave Awards 2022” for its significant carbon footprint reduction. Dr. Sharma’s project was shortlisted as a finalist for the United Nations Green Gown International Awards in both 2022 and 2023, representing India’s pioneering efforts. Additionally, he was honored with the “Green Technology Innovative Awards-2022” at ICAR-IGFRI, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and the “Green Technology Award 2022” at the ESDA World Environment Summit organized by the United Nations Environment Program and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Government of India. Dr. Sharma’s remarkable achievements continued as he was awarded the “Environmentalist of the Year Award” at Goa University and won the Gold in the Paris Design Award-2023 for his outstanding work in environmental sustainability. Most recently, he received the Gold in the ISGF Innovation Awards-2023 for his exceptional renewable energy programs/projects focused on building resilience. Furthermore, his designs for the Windrow Composting Plant for Stabilization of Municipal Solid Waste won Gold in the GOV Design Awards 2023 and will be honored in New York in May 2023.
